Is Competition Killing Your Marriage?

Is Competition Killing Your Marriage?

I remember the day clearly. How couldn’t I? It was the day I had dreamt of as a child; my wedding day. It was even more memorable because there was a hurricane brewing in the Gulf, and, yes, it was raining! Luckily, every time I had to get out of the Rolls Royce it cleared up before the downpour ensued. Looking at our video today, you can see the fright in our faces when the lights went out in the church. Did that really happen? Oh yeah!

The Good Health Checklist

The Good Health Checklist

Health implies far more than simply “the absence of disease or illness”.  Just like peace is more than the absence of war and conflict, joy is not just the absence of sorrow, and love is greater than the absence of hatred or indifference – so too good health is far more than the absence of disease. Health is a state of balance and harmony at all levels – mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, social, intellectual, and financial.  It is wholeness in its most profound sense; it exists when all the elements and forces making up an individual resonate in equilibrium.

Your Better “October” Calendar

Being organized, motivated, and inspired are all important parts of achieving your best life. The easiest way we’ve found of staying on track is by keeping a monthly calendar where we can see our key events, track our goals, and even motivate ourselves with quotes and affirmations. For years, we’ve published a monthly calendar for our own team. Rather, than keep it to ourselves, we’ve decided to share it with all of you! Especially since we know how helpful this can be. 🙂

Faith It Until You Make it!

Faith It Until You Make it!

Over the course of my short time here on this beautiful planet I have learned that we human beings when it has to do with achieving goals, dreams, and aspirations are driven by two factors: 1) Our Faith or 2) Our Fears. I’ve also learned that faith is a verb; an action word. The definition of faith is to have complete trust and confidence in….  The bible defines faith as confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see! There’s a famous saying, you may have used it before, I know I have, that states, “fake it, until you make it.” I see you nodding your head.

Your Home Is NOT A Good Investment

Your Home Is NOT A Good Investment

Recently I watched a short video interview of Nobel prize-winning Yale economist Robert Shiller. He has owned his own home for over 32 years and stated that after adjusting for inflation he doesn’t think the value of his own home has increased at all. He went on to say that a home is only a good investment if you are a professional and really know what you’re doing. But for the average homeowner, your home is really not that great of an investment.

Back To School: The Parents’ Perspective

Back To School: The Parents’ Perspective

As a new school year rolls around once again, I can’t help but think about how much being a father of 3 sons helped change and grow me personally.  Although my sons have graduated from High School, I can still reach back in my memory bank and remember how each August Kathy and I would spend a good deal of time getting our boys ready for their next year of school.
