Why I’ve Gotten SO Much More From My Earbuds By Turning Off Music: Podcasts Rock!

Pocket Tunes

I used to listen to music ALL the time.  Well, almost all the time.  If I could have the radio, stereo, or whatever on, I would, pumping out tunes.

A while back I discovered the Dave Ramsey show while commuting home from work, back when I had a job.  From that, I discovered that one could download episodes.  I had also discovered blogs and in doing so, found that many bloggers had podcasts.  WOW!! New stuff!!

These days I spend a lot of time working in the shop, or out on our place.  Nine times out of ten, I’ll be found with my earbuds stuffed in my ears, listening to informative programs.

What do I listen to?  Well, check out the listing below.  I’m sure that you’ll find something that will fit your style.

Martinis and Your Money

Hosted by Shannon McLay.  Shannon features at least one guest in each episode and occasionally has more.  Each episode is not only informative but also entertaining.  I really got a kick out of the Foolish Money Moves episode.  I was laughing to myself while clearing brush, which made the task so much easier.  If you listen carefully, you’ll hear reference to Brian at Debt Discipline, as a regular listener.  Yep, Brian has good taste in Podcasts.

Listen Money Matters

Hosted by Andrew Fiebert and Thomas, these guys put out great information.  Although I haven’t found myself laughing as much to this podcast, I’ve gotten great insight from it.  I really enjoyed Get Paid to Blog with Cat Alford of Budget Blonde.

This Is Your Life

Hosted by Michael Hyatt, this podcast if about leadership and life fulfillment.  There’s such a selection of topics, so many that can help one move forward and make a better life for one’s self.

Stacking Benjamins

Hosted by Joe Saul-Sehy and OG, (Other Guy) Stacking Benjamins is a magazine-style podcast. While each episode is just over an hour long, rarely will a segment run longer than 10 -15 minutes.  Stacking Benjamins is one of the first podcasts I discovered and I’ve pulled a bunch of info each episode.

M.O.N.E.Y.

I’ve most recently discovered M.O.N.E.Y. and really an am enjoying the episodes that I’ve downloaded, so far.  Hosted by Paula Pant, from Afford Anything,  and J. Money, of Rockstar Finance and Budgets are Sexy, this team from opposite sides of the continent really bring fun to learning.

Now, I know that I only shared 5.  Hey, I’m running out of steam, and this ought to give you a bit to look into without being overwhelmed.

So, what Podcasts do you really like?  Please share and let the rest of us know.
